SONIA'S STORY
Sonia Behan is an intuitive artist who lets rhythm and spontaneity guide her creative process. Working predominantly with oils, she crafts pieces characterized by dense layers, rich tones, and vibrant colours. Sonia’s unique approach involves naming her works with simple descriptions like “green 1” or “red 3,” encouraging viewers to form their own interpretations. Her paintings, while similar in theme, are never identical due to her instinctive, hands-on method.
She is available for commissions and welcomes opportunities to create bespoke works tailored to each client’s vision.
Sonia was recently featured on RTÉ’s DIY SOS: The Big Build – Mooncoin, where she was delighted to bring a little joy to Aoibhinn — who loves the moon and the stars — and her wonderful family. It was a privilege to be part of the show and contribute to such a meaningful project.
